Individual psychotherapy

Individual psychotherapy (therapy or talk therapy) is a one-on-one long or short term collaborative process between the psychologist (therapist) and a client. A safe and favourable environment is provided. This allows individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings, emotions and behaviour. Therapy allows for the facilitation of change and the improvement of quality of life to occur. Within this process, individuals are able to reach whatever personal goals, growth and change they wish to.

This type of therapy can assist with a wide range of life experiences and/or difficulties like:

​

  • Trauma

  • Managing Anxiety 

  • Coping with interpersonal and relational difficulties

  • Significant life changes and stages

  • Personal growth or change

Duration of sessions:

  • 51-60 minutes

 

Fees:

  • Medical aid rates apply

  • Cash- Discounted rate of R1 000 per session

Family psychology

Family psychotherapy

Family psychotherapy is a long or short term collaborative process between the psychologist (therapist) and family unit. A safe and favourable environment is provided. This allows individuals within a family system to explore their thoughts, feelings, emotions and behaviour. Therapy allows for the facilitation of change and the improvement of quality of life to occur. Within this process, families are able to reach whatever personal goals, growth and change they wish to.

This type of therapy can assist with a wide range of life experiences and/or difficulties like:

​

  • Trauma

  • Communication difficulties

  • Significant life changes and stages

  • Supportive therapy (i.e. coping with family members living with mental illness)

​

Duration of sessions:

  • 81-90 minutes

 

Fees:

  • Medical aid rates apply

  • Cash- Discounted rate of R1 400 per session

Group psychotherapy

Group psychotherapy

Group psychotherapy is a collaborative process between the therapist and individuals within a group context. Within this process, the therapist facilitates group members who may be experiencing common difficulties and share common goals for the group process. A safe and favourable environment is provided. This allows group members to explore their thoughts, feelings, emotions and behaviour. Therapy allows for the facilitation of change and the improvement of quality of life to occur.

This type of therapy can assist with a wide range of life experiences and/or difficulties:

​

  • Trauma

  • Interpersonal and relational difficulties

  • Substance abuse

  • Living with a mental illness

 

Duration of sessions:

  • 51- 60 minutes

 

Fees:

  • Medical aid rates apply

  • Cash- Discounted rate can be negotiated

Assesment

Assessments

Psychological assessments can assist with providing information on an individual’s clinical, behavioural, cognitive, neuropsychological and/or emotional functioning.

​

Psycho-legal assessment- Services of assessments for forensic and legal purposes are available.

​

Types of assessments available:

  • Cognitive

  • Emotional

  • Personality

  • Neuropsychological

​

Duration:

  • Varies  (Depends of type of assessment)

Fees:

  • Varies (Please contact me for a quote)

Cancellation Policy

Please note that appointments need to be cancelled 24 hours in advance or a fee will be charged. Not cancelling in time denies another client an opportunity to receive services. Cancellations and re-scheduling can easily be managed via the online scheduler.
